Competition Group
Commitment
A development pathway for male and female gymnasts who demonstrate exceptional potential, discipline, dedication and readiness for competitive artistic gymnastics.
Welcome to the Competition Group
Dear parents/guardians and gymnasts,
Kolorido Gymnastics continues its tradition of identifying gymnasts with potential for competitive training. Since March 10, 2019, we have evaluated gymnasts during regular sessions to determine who shows the aptitude, discipline, and mindset to grow in a more advanced environment.
The Royal Stars Section is aplicable to you if your gymnast has been selected to join or is already part of the Kolorido Royal Stars – Competition Group, a development track for gymnasts who demonstrate exceptional skill, potential and dedication.
Based on the skills demonstrated during training and/or physical and technical testing, gymnasts are placed in the Royal Stars group that best supports their current stage of development.
Groups & Training Schedule
Royal Stars are placed in a group based on age, skills, physical ability, technical development and evaluation by the coaching team.

Competition Commitment
Local Competitions
The gymnast participates in all local competitions and competitions for which the gymnast is placed on the competition roster.
International Competition
Every Royal Star participates in at least one competition abroad each year.
Competition-related costs are 100% covered by the parents/caretakers and gymnast.
One-Team Policy
Kolorido has a one-team policy where gymnasts and coaches travel and stay together.
Parents who prefer to be present in the country of travel make their own arrangements and must adhere to the one-team policy, allowing the gymnast to have the full experience of the training, traveling and competition program.
Sunday Mock Competitions
During competition-training periods, mock competitions are held every Sunday.
Participation is required for all gymnasts who are on the competition list and scheduled to compete.
Evaluations, Placement & Level Advancement
Gymnasts are evaluated for compliance with the conditions and commitments and will also be tested at least once per year, with the goal of quarterly evaluations.
If a gymnast’s compliance and test result is lower than the required standard, they will be given the opportunity to improve compliance and abilities during the next test cycle.
If, after this second opportunity, the gymnast still does not comply or meet the standards, they will return to the recreational group to continue developing at their own pace.

Final level placement and advancement remain subject to evaluation and approval by the coaching team.
